What does Open Science mean to you? Meet our new Open Science and Scholarship Advisory Committee
11 March 2024IFLA’s newest advisory committee, Open Science & Scholarship, was endorsed by the Governing Board in 2023. The committee is using its first term to August 2025 to further define IFLA’s contributions to these issues, raise awareness among the Federation, collaborate with other IFLA units and partners to to shape opinion and debate around open access and library values, including intellectual freedom and human rights. Other issues that intersect with open science and scholarship include copyright reform and rights retention, equity and diversity (in all forms), trust and misinformation.
Call for nominees and nominators: Open Science and Scholarship Advisory Committee
4 September 2023Nominations and nominees are welcome for positions on IFLA's new Open Science and Scholarship Advisory Committee, whose creation was agreed by the IFLA Governing Board on 25 August. 1 place for a chair and 9 places for members are available. Nominator and nominee forms are due by 12pm CEST on 3 October 2023.

1 September 2022IFLA is proud to share its 2022 statement on open access (OA), "10 years of the IFLA open access statement: a call to action". The statement affirms the value of open access and related initiatives, outlining IFLA's ongoing work in the area. It also offers a commitment to "lead by example, and complete the transition of IFLA’s publications to OA".
