Audiovisual and Multimedia Section
Sound and visual resources play an essential role in preserving cultural heritage and providing access to information and lifelong learning.
IFLA AVMS is the international forum for people working with audiovisual and multimedia works in every kind of library and information service.
We are committed to creating, collecting, describing, preserving, and providing access to audiovisual and multimedia content. We promote and support its use on a global scale.
We provide guidelines for handling audiovisual and multimedia collections. We share information and resources from non-library organizations such as archives.
AVMS members are on the leading edge of technology. We imagine new ways to use legacy media collections and emerging audiovisual technologies.
