In its attempts to establish contacts with the library community in the region the IFLA Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Regional Division Committee has compiled a list of information on library associations in the regions.
The IFLA Middle East and North Africa Regional Division Committee has been following with concern the situation faced by libraries and librarians in Gaza, and supporting efforts to gather and share information relevant to both safeguarding cultural rights, and supporting the upholding of international law.
Earlier this month, IFLA’s Middle East and North Africa Regional Division Committee met over two days in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. The meeting created a momentum that will carry forwards the Committee’s work to build action to support libraries across the region over the next two years.
IFLA's global reach and geographical diversity will be on show at this year's World Library and Information Congress, in particular through the sessions organised by our Regional Council and Regional Division Committees. Each Committee has worked hard to prepare exciting open sessions, complemented by open business meetings, and our new Hubs Results Session, sharing views from our WLIC 2023 Regional Hubs.
IFLA’s Middle East and North Africa Regional Division Committee organized a webinar related to knowledge portals in the region. The purpose of the webinar was to launch the Iraqi Portal of Knowledge.
