Expand your horizons and enrich your network at the most international congress in the library field. Your experience at the IFLA World Library and Information Congress (WLIC) will enlarge your perspective of the profession, and enable you to get in contact with top-level speakers and the most experienced library and information professionals in the world.

IFLA WLIC covers every aspect of librarianship and offers outstanding opportunities for networking and meaningful connections.

You can connect with others by delivering a paper, presenting a poster, or facilitating a session. Interactive events, such as the Coaching Sessions, and world café discussions are other places within the Congress schedule to meet new colleagues and potential collaborators.

You can also take part in one of the many other events open to all attendees. Every conference hosts a Cultural Evening where you can learn about the country in which the conference is held and interact casually in a celebratory atmosphere. Library visits are offered to those interested in getting an inside look at how local libraries are run and organised.

Outside of the conference schedule, Satellite Meetings are held just before the week of the conference, within the same region. These sessions are usually smaller and allow you to meet and discuss a common topic or theme of interest. The New Professionals Unconference Camp is open to all New Professionals and those who support them. The Congress provides for country and language based meetings (Caucus sessions) that could be social or topical in focus. With IFLA’s seven official languages, there is always someone to talk to.

Share your knowledge and make connections that will enhance your professional network and career. Join us at our next Congress.
